Steve Purnell

Steve combines broad experience in commercial marketing strategy and innovation with a background in engineering and technology.

An engineering graduate from Cambridge University he started his career in manufacturing before jumping over the wall into marketing management with Johnson & Johnson. He then moved into strategic marketing consultancy with specialisms in market strategy, innovation and branding.

He was a board director of The Value Engineers with responsibility for new business and marketing before returning to J&J as Director – Global Marketing Development.

For 14 years he ran his own consultancy business with a focus on helping ambitious enterprises in the consumer, healthcare and technology sectors to grow. He has designed and delivered marketing excellence programmes around the world for J&J, GSK and Bayer.

In recent years he has built new digital content marketing strategies for B2B businesses in the tech sector, run a business incubator for good, prototyped a number of new business ideas and helped many others to sharpen up their understanding of customers and build compelling propositions. He has also advised many social enterprises and charities on their commercial strategies.

He is a qualified professional coach with the Henley Business School and enjoys coaching leadership teams and key individuals through career transitions and onto success.
